Workshop Arts Centre, Willoughby
Mixed Media with Judith White
If you would like to make a start in painting beyond the usual confines of just one medium, then this workshop will inspire and get you started. If you already paint in mixed media but feel there is something missing, or you've reached a dead end, then this class is perfect. The workshop will include exercises and demonstrations combining acrylics, collage and various drawing materials. Controlling materials, liberating mark making, understanding colour and working with some helpful compositional guidlines will be featured. Contemporary still-life and landscape will be subject formats.

September 28th - October 6th 2019
Casa Rosa, Umbria, Italy
9 day Umbria mixed media workshop
Italy is a familiar destination to many artists, but this workshop will be a unique art holiday experience.
Set in a restored farmhouse within the boundaries of the Mount Subasio National Park, Umbria, the workshop is art practice focused relying on gathering reference in the field.

Selecting what to paint and draw is an important part of your own reference gathering process for later interpretation and development in the studio.

Working from just photographs can be very limiting and result inevitably with images that are picture postcards.

There will be demonstrations on how to make the most of being in situ.

A specific studio area will make it possible to paint and draw in comfort.
